The Client Problem

Our client needed experienced hands-on leadership to improve investor confidence in an accelerated delivery of their critical global ERP implementation. This implementation would provide full life-cycle business process transformation, improve efficiency and service quality, and establish the foundation of key management information that would underpin their future business strategy decisions.

What we did

PiC provided experienced hands-on programme leadership capability across the design, build, test and implementation phases, providing critical challenge and direction to a team who had varied systems-enabled transformation experience, sourced from within the business and the contract market.

How we did it

PiC quickly built trust by demonstrating credibility at all levels of the client organisation, creating a transparent, supportive and collaborative environment that fostered success.

Leading the Global Executive team through the change was a critical factor for success; ensuring objectives and priorities were clear and agreed, expectations were aligned and they were kept fully informed and in control at all times.

Results and Learnings

A realistic, achievable yet challenging programme plan was quickly developed, along with a number of guiding principles that would be used to manage priorities and inform decisions. These were presented to, and iterated with, the Global Executive to address their challenges, increase their understanding of the critical elements of the plan and work through a number of options that balanced pace, quality and cost. Throughout the programme this plan was used as the bedrock of all progress updates and steering decisions. It was a key factor in quickly building Executive and Investor confidence as milestones were achieved and the inevitable delivery issues could be proactively addressed, given context and priorities for resolution.
